Zero tolerance for objectionable content and abusive behavior
MusicYaa is an open platform where artists, vendors, and clients meet to plan events. We have a zero-tolerance policy for content or behavior that violates these guidelines. We review every report within 24 hours, remove violating content, and may suspend or permanently ban accounts that break the rules.
1. Our Promise
By using MusicYaa you join a community of professional musicians, event vendors, and clients planning real-world events. Everyone deserves to feel respected and safe here — both online and at the events made through our platform.
These guidelines apply to every part of MusicYaa where users can interact: profiles, reviews, photos, videos, direct messages, booking communications, and any other user-generated content ("UGC"). They apply equally on the website and the iOS and Android apps.
2. Content and Behavior We Prohibit
The following content and behavior are not allowed anywhere on MusicYaa. Posting any of it may result in immediate removal, account suspension, or permanent ban without notice and without refund.
2.1 Hateful or discriminatory content
- Slurs, hate speech, or attacks based on race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, age, disability, or veteran status
- Symbols, imagery, or coded language associated with hate groups
- Content that dehumanizes, mocks, or threatens a protected group
2.2 Harassment, bullying, and threats
- Targeted insults, intimidation, stalking, or repeated unwanted contact
- Threats of violence, doxing (sharing private information), or coordinated harassment
- Sexual harassment, including unwanted advances, comments about appearance, or solicitation
- Encouraging others to harass, harm, or harm themselves
2.3 Sexually explicit content
- Nudity, pornography, or sexually explicit images, videos, or text
- Sexually suggestive content involving minors — reported to NCMEC and law enforcement
- Solicitation of sexual services
2.4 Violence, self-harm, and dangerous activity
- Graphic violence, gore, or content that glorifies real-world harm
- Threats or incitement of violence against any person or group
- Content promoting suicide, self-injury, or eating disorders
- Promotion of dangerous illegal activities
2.5 Illegal activity
- Sale or promotion of illegal goods or services (drugs, firearms, stolen items, counterfeit goods)
- Content that infringes copyrights, trademarks, or other intellectual property rights
- Activity that violates U.S. federal, state, or local law
2.6 Spam, fraud, and scams
- Unsolicited promotional content, link spam, or referral schemes
- Fake reviews — both positive (paid promotion) and negative (competitor sabotage)
- Phishing, payment fraud, or attempts to move bookings off-platform to evade fees
- Misleading event details, fake availability, or bait-and-switch pricing
2.7 Impersonation and identity misuse
- Pretending to be another person, artist, vendor, or business
- Using stolen photos or media you do not have rights to publish
- Creating multiple accounts to evade a previous ban
2.8 Privacy violations
- Sharing another person's private information (phone, address, financial info) without consent
- Posting photos or videos of identifiable people without their permission
- Recording or sharing private conversations without consent
3. How to Report Content or a User
If you see anything that violates these guidelines, please report it. Reports are anonymous to the person being reported.
From the iOS app
- Tap the ⋯ menu in the top-right of any artist, vendor, or conversation screen
- Choose Report
- Select a reason and add optional details
- Tap Submit Report
You can also swipe left on any conversation in your inbox to reveal Report and Block options, or tap the ⋯ on any review to report it.
From the website
Open the conversation, profile, or review you'd like to report and click the Report button, or email safety@musicyaa.com with a screenshot and a link to the content.
24-hour review commitment
Our trust & safety team reviews every report within 24 hours. For threats of violence, self-harm, or suspected child exploitation, we escalate immediately and contact law enforcement when required.
4. Blocking Users
You can block any user at any time. When you block someone:
- They can no longer send you messages
- Existing conversations with them are hidden from your inbox
- Their reviews and profile are hidden from your view of the app
- You will not appear in their search results or recommendations
How to block
- iOS app: Open a conversation → tap ⋯ → Block. Or swipe left on a conversation in the inbox and tap Block.
- Manage blocked users: Profile → Blocked Users. Tap Unblock to remove.
Blocking is private — the other person isn't notified. Blocking does not file a report. If someone has violated our guidelines, please report them in addition to blocking.
5. How We Enforce These Guidelines
When we receive a report or detect a violation, we may take any of the following actions:
- Remove the content from the platform
- Issue a warning to the user, with a record kept on their account
- Temporarily suspend the user's ability to message, review, or book
- Permanently ban the user from MusicYaa, with no refund of platform or booking fees
- Notify law enforcement when content involves credible threats, child sexual abuse material (CSAM), or other criminal activity
Severity drives the response. A first-time minor violation typically results in content removal and a warning. Severe violations — threats of violence, sexual content involving minors, doxing, hate speech, or coordinated abuse — result in immediate permanent bans on first offense.
5.1 Appeals
If you believe an enforcement action against your account was a mistake, email safety@musicyaa.com within 14 days with your account email and a description. We respond within 5 business days.
5.2 Bans cannot be evaded
Creating a new account to evade a ban is itself a violation of these guidelines and our Terms of Service. We use account, device, and payment-method signals to detect ban evasion.
6. Deleting Your Account
You can delete your account at any time directly from the iOS app: Profile → Delete Account. This is immediate and permanent.
When you delete your account:
- Your profile, favorites, and blocked-user list are permanently removed
- Your sign-in credentials are deleted from our authentication system
- Reviews you've written remain visible but anonymized (we cannot remove them, since they reflect another business's reputation)
- Booking and payment records are retained for the period required by U.S. tax and consumer-protection law (typically 7 years)
We cannot restore deleted accounts. If you simply want to take a break, sign out instead.
7. Messaging and Booking Etiquette
MusicYaa's messaging system is for legitimate booking conversations between clients, artists, and vendors. To keep the platform useful for everyone:
- Respond to booking inquiries within 48 hours when possible
- Honor confirmed bookings — last-minute cancellations harm clients and the platform
- Don't pressure users to take payments or communications off-platform; this exposes everyone to fraud and removes our ability to help when something goes wrong
- Keep messages professional and on-topic
- Treat every interaction as you'd want to be treated
