Anyone can take your deposit. We're the only ones who'll find you another mariachi at 9 PM on a Friday when your first one flakes.

What's covered

Every booking made on MusicYaa is covered. Any artist cancellation, for any reason, at any time, on any platform booking. Wedding, quinceañera, birthday party, corporate gig. Mariachi, banda, norteño, sierreño, tamborazo. The artist gets sick, double-books, their van breaks down on I-10, doesn't matter. You're covered. No coverage tier to pick, no upgrade to buy. It's the default.

What we do when an artist cancels

    We get notified immediately.

    The artist files the cancellation through the platform. The system flags your booking and pings our ops team in seconds.

    We pull a list of comparable groups in your city.

    Same genre, similar size and rate, with confirmed availability on your event date. The artist database already has the calendars; the filter is one click.

  3. 3

    We call them and lock one in at the original price.

    A real person on our team works the phones until a comparable group says yes. They sign the same booking, on the same terms, for the same money you already paid.

    If we can't find one within budget, we refund you in full plus $200 credit.

    Your deposit comes back to your card. We add $200 toward a future booking on the platform, our way of saying we're sorry the first one didn't work out.

You won't be on the phone calling 12 mariachis on a Saturday morning. That's our job.

The actual rules. No ten-page PDF.

  • Coverage cap: We'll spend up to $500 over your original quoted price to land a comparable replacement. If it costs more than that to fill the slot, we refund you in full instead. The cap protects the platform; the refund protects you.

  • Tips and travel fees outside the original quote aren't covered. If you tipped the original group $200 in cash before they flaked, that's between you and them. The platform refunds the booking, not the tip.

  • Day-of notice: We need at least 4 hours' notice on the day of the event to attempt a substitute. Less than that, we go straight to a full refund. (The math just doesn't work past that point.)

Common questions

What if you can't find a replacement?
We refund your deposit in full and add a $200 credit toward a future booking. You walk away whole, with extra. No paperwork, no haggling.
Do I pay anything extra for the substitute?
No. The replacement performs at the price you originally booked. We absorb up to $500 over your quote to land a comparable group. Past that, we refund and you're free.
Does this cover artist no-shows the day of the event?
Yes. Same policy. If they don't show, we trigger the same substitute-or-refund process. We need at least 4 hours' notice on the day of the event to attempt a replacement; less than that, we refund.
What if I (the buyer) cancel?
Buyer cancellations follow a separate policy with deposit and timing rules. See our terms for the buyer-cancel schedule.
Why don't direct bookings have this?
An individual banda can't promise a substitute they don't control. They can't process a Stripe refund. They can't reach 40 other groups in your city in two hours. We can. That's the whole point of booking through a platform.
